If you are an entrepreneur, imagine the following situation: a customer is looking for institutional information about your company to get in touch with you. If it enter the name of your business on Google, it will quickly find key information – such as address, phone, email, website or profiles on social networks?
Google My Business, launched in 2014, is one of the tools that can help potential customers to have a more complete access to the information of your company. According to Google, “validated companies are twice as likely to be considered respectable by users”.
When we talk about local businesses, this functionality is even more important. If you are, therefore, a local entrepreneur, consider this situation: a customer is a few minutes from your store – for example, a restaurant – and looking for a place for lunch. If they type “restaurant” in Google, you will be met? Google My Business will certainly help your company to be found.
Many local businesses did not even imagine doing Inbound Marketing for thinking that the methodology is inconsistent with the reality in which they live, but this is not true, since many projects of this kind have had concrete results by investing in digital (if you want to know more about it, read the post How to make Content Marketing for local businesses ).
However, the Google My Business is a very broad tool and can benefit even companies that do not act locally. And it’s about using My Business to increase the exposure of your business on Google which we’ll talk in this post – plus a tutorial on how to make this setting.
In addition to the aforementioned advantages, to help your product or service to be found more easily, Google My Business can help you:
Imagine a potential customer searching for your business on Google. Surely he is looking for more information such as address, hours of operation, comments, photos, location, reviews and other data.
With your company registered in Google My Business, all this information is displayed within Google’s own for those looking for it.
You can reply to comments from your customers and post pictures to show what you do.
According to Google, “companies that add photos to the chips receive 42% more requests for driving directions on Google Maps and 35% more clicks to their websites than the other companies.”
To better understand the scope of your business, you can view insights on how customers searched for your business and where they are.
You can also know the number of people who called your company using the phone number displayed in the search results and Google Maps and where they are.
Plus, you get a monthly report by email with some relevant data such as how many people saw your business on Google and how many have asked for directions.
1. First, go to the home page of My Business and click “start now”.
2. On the page that opens, fill in the form with the company name, country, address, zip code, category. Tell also serves customers where they have or only in your address (latter form).
